Chapter Ten

Jess stumbled as she was pushed around a hidden corner at the very end of the corridor and through one of the two doors she’d not noticed before. Putting out a hand to steady herself against the wall, she ducked as the canvas bag containing her clothes flew past her head.

The door slammed shut behind them and Miss Sarah wordlessly strode through her private quarters until she reached the bathroom.

Unsure whether to follow or re-dress Jess stood for a moment, nervously taking in her surroundings. It was more than a simple hotel room and she realised that Miss Sarah must live at Fables just as Mrs Peters did.

The sound of the shower blasting into life cut through Jess’s musings. Feeling cold, and more than a little uncomfortable, she decided to risk Miss Sarah’s anger and get dressed while she could.

Fumbling her clothes from the bag Jess found her hands unexpectedly shaky, as if everything that had happened to her and all that she’d witnessed over the past few days had hit her all at once. Hunting for her knickers, and then remembering that she hadn’t had them on, Jess couldn’t help but wonder what it was that Mrs Peters regarded as special about her, not to mention why it was suddenly making Miss Sarah jealous.

‘You had better not be dressing in there.’ Miss Sarah’s words were semi-drowned out by the pounding of the water, but the tone of her voice was unmistakable, ‘Come here.’

Jess dropped her clothes back to the floor and, aware of the penalties of disobeying, followed the sound of her mistress’s voice.

She was not in the shower, but waiting beside it, wasted water cascading into the empty tray, ‘Get in.’

Clammy after the sweltering suction of the nurse’s uniform, Jess did as she was told. The water was unbelievably hot, but as her flesh adjusted to its temperature and pressure Jess’s knotted muscles started to unwind.

‘Wash your hair.’ Miss Sarah passed Jess a bottle of shampoo. Standing back, her own uniform still in place, she watched every move the clerk made.

Wordlessly Jess circulated a handful of shampoo through her hair, the knots untangling beneath her fingers. When the soap was all washed away, Jess went to step out of the shower, but Miss Sarah signalled for her to stay exactly where she was.

Taking the still steaming shower attachment from its hook, Miss Sarah lowered the head towards Jess, focusing its fast flow onto her left breast. Automatically Jess’s hand went up to protect herself from the sharp sting of water, but Miss Sarah knocked it away.

‘Put your hands behind your back.’

Jess tried to comply, but the moment her hands came away, her nipple puckered in unexpected discomfort, and her palms came back to her chest.

‘So much for you being the ultimate submissive!’ Jess couldn’t decide if Miss Sarah was pleased or disappointed. ‘You can’t even stand still in a shower, and I’d thought that by now our exercise training would have installed some discipline and stamina in you.
